Toronto's Annual Pride Parade 2018

Stand loud and proud with more than 120 groups marching in Pride Toronto’s Pride Parade, one of the largest in North America. To celebrate the culmination of Toronto's third Pride Month, Toronto hosted its 38th annual Pride parade. This was the UTSC Cheer team’s third year taking part and marching in the parade. Our team is made up of a diverse group of members with a variety of backgrounds. Just this year we welcomed our first male cheerleader to our team!
It was a rainy day but the parade went on! We were anticipating showing off the team's new sports bras at the parade however due to unexpected shipping times, we had to come up with a solution fast! We pulled our minds and creativity together and made these bright and colourful outfits to represent our team as well as bring the pride spirit! HEY, you can never go wrong with tie dye! Our metallic poms brought the whole outfit together and we were able to march in the parade with our smiles on! For some members, it was their first time marching in the pride parade and we can definitely say it was a great experience!
Despite the weather, and having to huddle under plastic bags for shelter before the parade, we had a fabulous time and it was a great experience seeing the whole community of Toronto come together to celebrate Pride! We're all looking forward to next year's pride parade!
